China-based smartphone manufacturer TECNO has silently launched the TECNO POP 5X in North America. The smartphone comes as a surprise, as it seems to be a rebadged itel Vision 1 Pro smartphone.
It was expected since Transsion electronics owns both, the itel and TECNO. Nonetheless, we spotted the listing on the official Mexico TECNO website. The smartphone’s pricing is currently unknown, but we’ll update once we get to learn more details on the same. As for colors, it has Ice Crystal Blue and Cosmic Shine colors.
- 6.5-inch Dot notch display
- 8MP triple cameras, 5MP selfie lens
- 4,000mAh battery
TECNO POP 5X comes with a plastic built and has a standard 18:9 form factor. It sports a 6.5-inch Dot notch display with an HD+(1600 x 720 pixels) resolution. It has a 94% screen-to-body ratio and features a 60Hz refresh rate. The screen has 2.5D curved glass.
In terms of cameras, the smartphone has a triple camera system with an 8MP primary lens. The other two lenses remain unknown, but we expect them to be QVGA sensors, just like the itel Vision 1 Pro. The device has a 5MP selfie camera at the front. The device claimed to shoot bokeh shots and HDR images. It also has face beauty mode and AI sticker support.
Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t mention the exact chipset. It is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot for additional storage. The smartphone packs a 4,000mAh battery but doesn’t have fast charging support. TECNO claims that the battery is calibrated by AI Power Master, where the cell will offer a longer battery, thanks to AI optimization.
The smartphone has facial recognition and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. The reader can take up to 8 fingerprints. On the other hand, the facial unlock can work even in low-light conditions. The smartphone has a micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs on Android 10 GO Edition. It has the following dimensions – 166mm x 75.90mm x 8.5mm. It weighs 150 grams.
