Huawei’s trademarked clamping mechanism, where it leaves no visible gap when closed is finally launched in the form of the Huawei P50 Pocket at the year-end and it is all set to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3. It has entered the foldable phone trend with the new Huawei P50 & P50 Pro.

Huawei P50 Pocket pricing, availability
Huawei has not yet released international prices or availability. But in China, the base variant comes with an 8GB + 256GB storage version and costs CNY 8,988, which is approximately INR 1.06 L. The upper-end variant which has 12GB + 512GB storage costs CNY 10,988, which converts to INR 1.3 L.
Huawei P50 Pocket Specifications
The Huawei P50 Pocket boasts a 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED primary screen with a large 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels. On the front when the phone is folded there is a little 1-inch cover screen mainly displaying the time, date, and alerts but can also be customized by third-party apps to display maps, music control, and a lot more. The phone measures 7.2mm when unfolded state and 15.2mm when folded it weighs 190gm.
The P50 Pocket includes three cameras: a 40MP primary camera with 26mm, a Secondary camera is a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide snapper with a 120-degree field of view, and a 32MP f/1.8 ultra spectrum camera which helps in colour correction. On the front 10.7MP camera is present.
The Huawei P50 Pocket smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 888 4G SoC and an Adreno 660 GPU. It has Huawei custom OS called HarmonyOS.To power this all up the battery provided is 4,000mAh and it allows rapid charging up to 40W.On the connectivity aspect, it gets all the latest technology which includes Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6,4G LTE, NFC, etc.
The Huawei P50 Pocket can be bought in 2 colour options Crystal White and Obsidian Black. It has also collaborated with luxury fashion designer Iris Van Herpen to create a unique Huawei P50 Pocket Premium Edition. which has a gold finishing with a water flowing design.
