Realme kickstarted its IoT lineup last year allowing a variety of its products to seamlessly work with each other. One of the highlighting gadgets from the IoT series was its first-ever smartwatch. The Realme Watch that debuted in late 2020 has now received a successor. The all-new Realme Watch 2 has an improved display, 90+ sports modes, and a design similar to the Apple Watch.

The Realme Watch 2 has first landed in the Malaysian market since its another major market for the company after the home-town, China, and India. The smartwatch comes at a price tag of MYR 229(~$55) adding vibrancy to the Malaysian smartwatch market. In terms of colorway, it has the sole Black color variant.

Realme Watch 2 Specifications and Features

Display and Design

The Realme Watch 2 sports almost the same design as its predecessor, the Realme Watch. It has a plastic built featuring a 1.4-inch display with a 320 x 320 pixels resolution. It is an IPS LCD panel with a thicker bottom chin. For those who don’t know, the first generation of the smartwatch also had similar bezels and this one provides the same experience.

What has improved is the brightness of the screen and watch face support. The Watch 2 comes with 600 nits of bright panel that can flaunt 100+ watch faces. Interestingly, the watch has now got live watch faces which the users can set from the Realme link application.

In terms of physical overview, the watch has a thick body with a capacitive button on the right-hand side. It has curved corners in four of the ends and the sides are in matte Black finish.

Features and Modes

If you are an avid Realme user you must be knowing that the 14 sports modes on the first generation Realme Watch were quite limited. Well, now, the company has stacked a whopping 90 sports modes including new ones such as dynamic cycling, rowing, and elliptical. Other modes include walking, outdoor running, cricket, yoga, strength training, indoor walking, hiking, etc.

The smartwatch also comes with a much-needed SpO2 sensor for tracking the oxygen levels in the blood. It has a Sleep monitoring feature and even a heart rate monitor for keeping a check on your heartbeats.

Other Specifications

As compared to the last Realme Watch, generation 2 has an improved battery cell. It has a 315mAh huge battery over the 160mAh on the predecessor. This is a big leap as Realme now claims it to last for 12 days.

Moreover, the smartwatch has a Smart AIoT control feature that allows users to control other connected Realme devices straight from the smartwatch. Users can also mute and disconnect the calls from the watch, messages, and app alerts are also present.

The smartwatch is comes in a lighter form factor at 38 grams. It has IP68 water and dust resistance meaning that you can go for a quick swim in the pool.

Other than this, the smartwatch can be paired with Android phones running Android version 5.0 and above. It has Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity and supports the Realme Link app for all the tweaks on the smartwatch.
